The Royal Danish Embassy in Kiev is looking for a new Political Advisor

The Embassy is hiring a locally employed Political Advisor for the Political Department, The employee will be part of a team consisting of one posted and four locally employed co-workers as well as an intern.

Main tasks and responsibilities

The Political Department handles a wide range of tasks, determined by the current domestic, foreign and economic agenda. It is an exceptionally exciting and dynamic period in Ukraine's development, which is also crucial for the security policy landscape in Denmark's vicinity, and Denmark has a high political profile in Ukraine.

You will participate in the preparation of political analyses and reports, answering requests from Danish and Ukrainian authorities, translations, gathering and disseminating information to Ukrainian society. You will also be included in the coverage of the Embassy's accredited countries - Armenia and Georgia - as well as in the management of Denmark's assistance to Ukraine and Georgia.

The position is a full-time position, 40 hours a week. The employment is on local terms. Salary will be paid according to qualifications. The position is initially for one year with the possibility of extension.

Requirements for the position

We are looking for a colleague who:
• Has a relevant education, preferably Political Science.
• Speaks and writes fluently in Danish and English, knowledge of Ukrainian/Russian is an advantage.
• Has a good political understanding and knowledge of Danish and Eastern European policies.
• Has high competencies in the field of written communication and analysis, including in particular political and economic issues
• Has relevant professional or practical experience.
• Flair for networking.
• Is flexible, adaptable and able to work under time pressure.
• Works independently and efficiently without compromising on quality of the work.
• Has good cooperative skills and a positive attitude.

Starting Date
1st of October 2018 or as soon after. Employment requires security clearance from the Danish authorities.
