Waivering visa application fee

As a main rule a fee is to be paid for processing a visa application at the Danish embassy in Kyiv, but the visa processing fee has been waived for the following categories of Ukrainian citizens.

Following article 6 in the agreement between Denmark and Ukraine on the facilitation of the issuance of visa (in force as of 1.3.2009), the visa processing fee has been waived for the following categories of Ukrainian citizens*:

(The applicant will have to provide evidence that the applicant falls under the relevant category. For further documentation, see the “Checklists of supporting documents justifying the purpose of a journey to Denmark” mentioned under each category.)

a) Close relatives of citizens of Ukraine legally residing (permanently) in the territory of the Member States: Spouses, children (including adopted), parents (including custodians), grandparents, grandchildren.

b) Members of official delegations who, following an official invitation addressed to Ukraine, shall participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations, exchange programmes, as well as in events held in the territory of one of the Member States by intergovernmental organisations.

c) Members of national Governments and Parliaments, regional Governments and Parliaments, Constitutional Courts and Supreme Courts.

d) Following persons who undertake trips for the purpose of study or educational training: Schoolchildren, students, post-graduate students and accompanying teacher.

e) Disabled persons and person accompanying them, if necessary.

f) Persons who have presented documents proving the necessity of their travel on humanitarian grounds, including
- to receive urgent medical treatment and person accompanying such person,
- to attend a funeral of a close relative,
- to visit a close relative seriously ill.

g) Participants in international sports events and persons accompanying them.

h) Persons participating in scientific, cultural and artistic activities, including university and other exchange programmes.

i) Participants in official exchange programmes organised by twin cities;

j) Journalists;

k) Pensioners;

l) Drivers conducting international cargo and passenger transportation services to the territories of the Member States in vehicles registered in Ukraine;

m) Members of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews in international trains, travelling to the territories of the Member States;

n) Children under the age of 18 and dependent children under the age of 21.
(visa applicants have to present evidence proving their age; and – if for dependant under the age of 21- in addition their dependency)

* In case the visa should and could be processed as an urgent case (visa within 3 days), the fee will be introduced for the categories mentioned above under art. a), d), g), h), i), l), m) and n). The fee is in such urgent cases 35 Euro Euros to be paid in Ukrainian Hryvnja (UAH).
