Danish entrepreneur created Skype, a peer-to-peer telephony application first released in 2003, Janus Friis and Swedish tech guru Niklas Zennström. 

Millions of people currently use Skype worldwide for online video communication.

Friis was named on Time magazine's list of 100 most influential people in 2006. 

That year, he also was awarded the prestigious IT-prisen ("IT Prize"), given by the Danish IT industry and IDG, for his innovative work.
