Тhe Embassy is looking for a Cooperation Adviser - maternity leave cover

The Embassy of Denmark is now hiring an experienced Cooperation Adviser as a 1 year’s maternity leave cover. You will be part of the embassy’s Cooperation Team and will oversee all aspects of Denmark’s development cooperation program in Ukraine, including review and appraise project documents.

The position provides a great opportunity to contribute to the activities and further development of a busy, bilateral embassy in the centre of Kyiv.

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

In cooperation with the Head of Cooperation and relevant staff at the Danish MFA, oversee all aspects of Denmark’s development cooperation program in Ukraine;
Draft, review and appraise project documents;
Liaise with implementing partners and Ukrainian beneficiaries, conduct regular monitoring visits, and report on progress;
Contribute to the management of the Mykolaiv-Denmark partnership;
Draft communications on behalf of the Embassy;
Represent the Danish Embassy at donor coordination meetings;
Report on political and policy developments in the sectors of relevance to the Danish development cooperation portfolio;
Draft talking points for the Embassy’s participation in conferences, roundtables and other public events and media engagements;
Prepare visits of Danish government officials to Ukraine;
Undertake frequent in-country missions to the city and region of Mykolaiv as well as other relevant cities and regions - sometimes under challenging security circumstances;

Professional qualifications:
Professional integrity and sound judgment. 
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion. 
 A minimum 5 years of working experience in international relations, and development or humanitarian planning.
Strong English and Ukrainian, spoken and written.
Relevant university degree is an advantage.

Starting Date:

Starting date will be 17th June 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter. The applicant should be eligible for working in Ukraine. A competitive salary package will be provided according to qualifications.
