5 YEARS OF HIGH ANTICORRUPTION COURT: FROM IDEA TO CAPACITY

Today, on September 5th, Ambassador Ole Egberg Mikkelsen made a speech at the event marking the 5th anniversary of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

In his speech, the Ambassador evoked the reasons behind Denmark’s determination to support the Ukrainian anti-corruption institutions, which is to ensure integrity that the Ukrainians had demanded before and during the Revolution of Dignity in 2014, as well as to support Ukraine in its EU aspirations: “The fight against corruption predates my arrival in this country. It has been a long road, with ups and downs and bumps. And there is still a long way to go. But during my years in Ukraine, I have seen the political will and determination continue to grow despite the Russian aggression. The battle is not over. But let me assure you that Denmark will be just as steadfast in our support for your fight against corruption as we are in our support for your armed struggle on the battlefields”.

The event was co-organized by European Union Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI) co-funded and implemented by Denmark on behalf of the EU.
