Danish participation at the EU foreign ministers meeting in Kyiv

On October 2, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Denmark, took part in the historic meeting of EU foreign ministers in Kyiv.

For the first time, this historic meeting was convened outside the present EU territory, in Ukraine as a future EU member country.  The meeting was presided by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security.


Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen:

  • laid down flowers to the memory wall of the fallen Ukrainian military
  • announced the opening of the embassy office in Mykolaiv
  • announced more Danish support to Ukraine, including 20 million Danish kroner (2,7 million Euros) for Ukraine’s cybersecurity
  • was awarded an Order of Merit by President Zelensky
