Ambassador in Mykolaiv. Partnership Takes on a New Level

The Ambassador met with the Mayor Oleksander Sienkevych, Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Head Vitaliy Kim, and Head of Mykolaiv Regional Council Hanna Zamazeieva, as well as with local business community.

The parties signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Partnership between Denmark, Mykolaiv and Mykolaiv Region, sealing the partnership that had been established at the initiative of 🇺🇦 President Zelensky, and subsequently supported by 🇩🇰 Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen. 

“I am proud we take the Denmark-Mykolaiv partnership to the text level”, Ole Mikkelsen stated.

Vitaliy Kim noted, “Today we have established solid cooperation and our bonds are strong which I am very happy about." Hanna Zamazieieva added that Memorandum would facilitate the rebuilding of housing and the creation of new employment opportunities, encouraging local residents to return home. According to Mayor Sienkevych, “Priority now is on building shelters in educational institutions, restoring water supply and repairing networks, as well as helping local business to restart operations”.

The partnership between Denmark and Mykolaiv is far along the tracks. So far, Denmark has invested considerable funds and efforts for the city and region’s winterization, as well as restoring its water supply and district heating systems. The next stage of the partnership will be focused on business development and opportunities.
