Ambassador met with UkrEnergo CEO

On October 31, Ambassador Ole Egberg Mikkelsen met the CEO of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudrytski at Ukrenergo’s Headquarters in Kyiv – a building that is still visibly damaged from the last year’s Russian attacks.

The meeting was dedicated to Ukraine’s preparation of the energy system for the upcoming winter and optimizing the support from international partners, both on short term needs, such as the procurement of equipment and availability of emergency power imports, and the strategic outlook for fully integrating Ukraine in the European power markets. In this regard, Ukrenergo is a valued partner in the Ukraine-Denmark Energy Partnership Programme (UDEPP), working closely with Danish experts on e.g. a roadmap to market synchronization, full accession of Ukrenergo to the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-E) and demand response through consumer engagement with new digital applications.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Energy Counsellor Mr. Nikolaj Lomholt Svensson and National Programme Coordinator for the Ukraine-Denmark Energy Partnership Programme (UDEPP) Ms. Alla Chebotnikova.

The Ambassador praised Ukrenergo’s energy repair-workers and engineers for their dedication and bravery to keep the lights on during the extremely difficult circumstances.
