Bright Bird: the first Danish Company to set up an office in Mykolaiv

September marked a historic event as Bright Bird A/S officially inaugurated its office in Mykolaiv, Ukraine. This makes Bright Bird A/S the first Danish company to establish itself in the Danish partner city since the full-scale invasion. Director Thomas Trust Have, who is a doctor in anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine and a former hunter soldier, is behind the decision to place the company's first international office in Ukraine. During an initial dialogue at the opening of the office, the Ambassador, Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, and the governor of Mykolaiv Vitalii Kim, participated at the office opening.
Ambassador Ole Egberg Mikkelsen stated that “Security is an important prerequisite for Danish companies to be able to operate here, and it is also an excellent demonstration of the fact that our partnership with Mykolaiv is not only about building infrastructure, e.g. schools and other institutions. It is just as much a matter of private sector engagement, and I believe this company will play an important role in supporting Danish companies and Danish investors here. I look forward to our cooperation”.
Thomas Have highlighted the reasons behind this strategic decision: "For us, our presence in Ukraine is not just a business decision, it is also a moral decision. We believe that the commercial sector in Denmark also has a responsibility to support Ukraine in re-establishing itself - not just the Danish state. The focus of the future should move from words to action. As Mykolaiv constitutes a strong combination of both the public and private sectors with a focus on practical solutions, it is obvious for us to be here."
The choice of Ukraine as the first international office also reflects Bright Bird's belief that Ukraine, and Mykolaiv in particular, will attract both governmental and commercial players in the coming period as part of the wider reconstruction of the country. The core point for both of these actors is the opportunity to work freely and safely, which Bright Bird aims to enable. With the establishment in Mykolaiv, Bright Bird is now expanding its presence to include offices in Hørsholm, Skodsborg, Middelfart and most recently Mykolaiv. Bright Bird A/S looks forward to strengthening the ties between Denmark and Ukraine through its presence in Mykolaiv and engaging in contributing to the reconstruction of Ukraine in the years to come.
