COPENHAGEN PRE-ACCESSION INSTRUMENT: DENMARK ALLOCATES 20 MILLION EUR TO UKRAINE AND MOLDOVA TO ACCELERATE EU ACCESSION

Denmark is proud to commit 20 million EUR to support Ukraine and Moldova as they officially begin EU accession negotiations on their way to full membership.  Denmark's support will help establish necessary administrative structures and legislation, while the instrument will also support study stays and public education.

The Copenhagen Pre-Accession Instrument builds on Denmark’s strong legacy as an advocate for merit-based EU enlargement – including The Copenhagen Criteria for democracy, human rights and market economy which were formulated in Denmark’s capital back in 1993.

The initiative for the Pre-Accession Instrument is part of the Danish Neighborhood Programme, which already supports the reform processes of Ukraine and other EU neighbours, crucial for their approximation to the EU. This highlights Denmark's dedication to a united and stable Europe.

"A successful enlargement of the EU is essential for the stability of Europe”, said Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen. Let's celebrate this significant step of Ukraine towards a brighter future!
