Danish Public Private Partnership will help Ukrainian cities with water supply
The batch weighting over 11 tons of various pumps and accessories has safely arrived to Ukraine last week. It will be used by the cities in Eastern and Southern Ukraine in order to address the challenges caused by the Russian attacks on the water supply system.
Among the equipment are vertical multistage pumps, submersible pumps, centrifugal and drainage pumps as well as various accessories such as frequency converters, welding machines etc. This became possible due to a unique public-private partnership comprising of the Embassy of Denmark, Association of water utilities companies in Denmark “Danske Vandværker” and “DANVA” as well as three Danish companies: Grundfos, the global industry leader in pumps and Per Aarsleff, one of Europe's main civil engineering company and DSV Logistics – world’s leader in logistics and cargo transport – all with a strong track record in Ukraine.
The process was initiated by the Ministry of Regional Development and Communities of Ukraine in a partnership with the Danish Embassy in Ukraine. Then the Danske Vandværker and DANVA have made a call for donation among its members, managing to gather over 60 used pumps and various accessories at total weight over 11 tons. Grundfos Denmark has made a service check of each and every Grundfos pump, Per Aarsleff has facilitated contacts to the Ukrainian NGO Podilska Hromada which has kindly offered its warehouse facilities both in Poland and Ukraine. DSV logistics has contributed with the transport from various donors in Denmark as well as further transport to Poland. Grundfos Ukraine will assist with the further distribution of the pumps and accessories to the affected by war cities in Eastern and Southern Ukraine.
A great public private partnership proves to be effective and efficient tool of support to Ukraine.
We are proud to support Ukraine – the nation of heroes – at this difficult times!
