DANISH-UKRAINIAN AGRO TECH CONFERENCE

On 29 April 2025, the Danish-Ukrainian Agro Tech Conference was held at the Premier Palace Hotel in Kyiv, bringing together leading Danish agri-tech companies and Ukrainian stakeholders to strengthen cooperation, exchange knowledge, and support innovation in Ukraine’s agricultural sector.

The event was co-hosted by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Denmark in Ukraine, the Danish Agriculture and Food Council, and in collaboration with Ukrainian agricultural associations. It marks a continuation of a dynamic partnership, building on the 2023 Danish AgriTech mission to Lviv and the 2024 Ukrainian delegation visit to Denmark.

Seven Danish companies—Linka Energy, JEMA AGRO, SKOV-SECCO, Lachenmeier Monsun, Crocus, Cimbria, and Breeders—presented their cutting-edge solutions in bioenergy, grain processing, animal husbandry, and sustainable agriculture to Ukrainian counterparts.

Opening the event, Ambassador of Denmark to Ukraine Ole Egberg Mikkelsen highlighted the significance of the conference and the symbolism of Danish business leaders physically visiting Kyiv under challenging conditions:

“It is easy to find excuses to stay away or to meet online, but our Danish companies chose to be here—in person, in Kyiv—despite the long journey and ongoing missile attacks. This is not just a visit; it is an act of solidarity. It shows that Denmark stands with Ukraine not only in words but in action.”

The Ambassador also emphasized Denmark’s unwavering support for Ukraine, noting that while over 90% of Danish aid is in the form of defence support, civilian partnerships—particularly in agriculture—remain a core priority. He praised the resilience of Ukrainian farmers and highlighted Denmark’s long-standing investment and cooperation in Ukrainian agriculture, particularly through institutions like IFU (Denmark’s Investment Fund for Developing Countries) and EIFO (Export and Investment Fund of Denmark), which continue to co-finance and support agricultural development, even in frontline regions such as Mykolaiv.

“The ambition of Ukrainian agriculture is sky-high,” the Ambassador said. “Ukrainian producers want the best technologies—and this is exactly what Danish companies are offering here today.”

The Embassy of Denmark expresses its deep appreciation to all participants, partners, and organizers for their commitment and contributions to this impactful event. The conference serves as a testament to the enduring strength of the Danish-Ukrainian partnership and the shared belief in a resilient, innovative, and sustainable future for Ukraine’s agricultural sector.
