DANISH-UKRAINIAN DEFENCE INDUSTRY CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN KYIV FOR THE FIRST TIME

The Conference on 23 March brought together Ukrainian companies from the defence industry, business organizations and the political leadership in order to support a more long-term and strategic approach to the involvement of Danish defence companies.
Denmark’s Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen opened the Conference together with his Ukrainian counterpart Rustem Umerov and Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksander Kamyshin

Denmark and Ukraine recently entered into a ten-year Agreement on Security Cooperation and Long-term Support Between Denmark and Ukraine. The security commitments are financially supported by the Danish Ukraine Fund, which is currently funded until 2028. Within the framework of the Ukraine Fund, the government has set aside DKK 1.75 billion kroner in an industry pool, which is targeted at the purchase of donations to Ukraine from the defence industry up to and including 2026. Companies have the opportunity to submit offers to the Material and Procurement Agency within the Ministry of Defence in order to be considered for the pool.

"It is crucial that purchases in the defence industry take place on the basis of Ukraine's specific need for military support. I am happy that so many Danish companies support Ukraine's defence struggle. I talk regularly with representatives of the Danish defence industry about how we can better utilize the knowledge and capacity of the business world in relation to the military donations to Ukraine. We can do that to an even greater extent with the industry pool," says Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen.
