DENMARK AND UKRAINE SIGN MEMORANDUM ON ARMS PROCUREMENT FROM UKRAINIAN MANUFACTURERS
Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen together with his Ukrainian colleagues, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov and Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Strategic Industries Sergiy Boyev signed Memorandum in Brussels on 13 June.
The agreement provides for a model where Denmark finances contracts between Ukraine and Ukrainian companies for the procurement of military equipment. This model is also the first of its kind.
“Faster and more efficient military support to Ukraine. Memorandum of Understanding between DK and UA facilitates that more military donations can be produced locally in Ukraine as the Danish model paves the way for direct procurement in UA defence industry,” says Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
Denmark has allocated a total of DKK 1.2 billion to the project through donation packages XVII and XVIII. The first donations in the project are expected to be implemented during the summer.
