Denmark sends its largest military aid package for the Ukrainian offensive

A broad majority in the Danish Parliament supported a large donation package worth DKK 1.7 billion (approximately EUR 228 million) to Ukraine.

The package is aimed at strengthening Ukraine's ability to carry out an offensive in the coming months.

"We know that the Russians have entrenched themselves in the occupied areas of Ukraine with trenches, minefields and other obstacles to stop a Ukrainian offensive. The equipment in the donation package is essential to pave the way for Ukrainian tanks and armoured infantry in the front line. At the same time, we are strengthening our efforts to maintain essential military capabilities," says Acting Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

The donation package contains:

– Armoured recovery and engineering vehicles
– Mine-resistant and mine-clearance vehicles used for mine clearance
– Mine clearance hoses
– Mine clearance spikes
– Mortar shells
– Ammunition for Carl Gustav nozzle cannon
– Mobile field bridges
– Night vision goggles
– Funds set aside for the procurement of air defence
– 50 million euros for NATO support to Ukraine with non-lethal equipment
