Generators Supplied from Odense to Kyiv
Today, the Ambassador was present at the hand-over ceremony of the 8 power generators that had been supplied to the Ukrainian capital by activists of the Rotary network in Kyiv’s sister city of Odense.
According to Kyiv mayor Vitaliy Klychko, these generators will be installed in boiler rooms to ensure heating supply to Kyiv residents during power outages.
In his speech, Ambassador Ole Mikkelsen stated, “I talked to one of the Danish activists yesterday and I asked him: Why are you doing this, what is your motivation? The answer was: “We have to, because when darkness descends, you need your friends”. This illustrates what I have seen throughout the war. There is a tremendous will in Denmark to assist Ukraine, both at the official level and among private citizens”.
