JYSK MARKS ITS 20th ANNIVERSARY IN UKRAINE AND OPENS ITS 100th STORE
The first JYSK store was opened in Denmark in 1979. Now, JYSK is an international company with over 31000 employees in 48 countries. The first franchise shop in Ukraine was opened in 2004. In 2012, JYSK Nordic decided to reacquire the franchise. Ever since, JYSK has been actively developing its network on the Ukrainian market, also after the start of the full-scale invasion in 2022. The 100th Ukraine’s JYSK shop is now opened in Chernivtsi.
Yevhen Ivanytsia, JYSK country manager, shared insights about the company’s vision, mission, values and plans, placing a special focus was placed on the charity projects that JYSK is conducting with various partners, including the “Come Back Alive” fund, whose chairman, Mr. Taras Chmut, was present at the event.
As Mr. Jens Alsbirk mentioned in his speech, “Hygge” is not the only value that JYSK represents. JYSK is also about openness, transparency, equality and teamwork, social responsibility and ethical governance. Jysk has also played an immense part in Denmark’s support to Ukraine, especially since the start of the Russian full-scale invasion. In June 2022, the Ambassador took part in the reopening of the JYSK store in Bucha, just two months after the Russian atrocities in that green and peaceful suburb. At that very moment, we believed that Ukraine would be strong enough to resist the Russian aggression”.
