HOW TO BEST HELP UKRAINE’S FIGHT FOR FREEDOM?
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen addressed the Danish Parliament during a special session dedicated to Ukraine on Tuesday 19th.
Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen spoke about Denmark’s efforts to support Ukraine and the special role that Denmark assumed in rebuilding Mykolaiv. She shared some of her own experiences from January 2023 when she was visiting the city. “I was in Mykolaiv, which, as many know, is Denmark’s partner city. And there we met a Ukrainian woman. And she said that from the outset, the Russians cut water supply to Mykolaiv. This is how Russians act. They destroy as much as possible, as soon as possible. This is a genuine disaster for the city residents, because without water, one is forced to flee at some point. So this woman looks at us and thanks us resolutely for the help we have provided resolutely, as it was Denmark that had installed water supply facilities. Pumps came from Grundfos, others ensured that equipment would function. It may seem like a small thing, but that is infinitely much. For it means that so many families could stay in their homes. They didn’t become refugees that spring. They were able to stay, to start rebuilding their city, to go on with their lives”.
