An emergency donation from the Danish Emergency Management Agency arrived in Ukraine and is on the way to be deployed in Kherson region.
This Danish contribution will help Ukrainian authorities respond to the extensive flooding following the bursting of the Nova Kakhovka dam.

The package includes pumps, tents for accommodation, rescue boats and a high-capacity generator. This equipment from the Danish Emergency Management Agency travelled from Denmark’s international logistics center in Herning directly to Lviv from where it will be deployed to the flooded areas.

This assistance is aimed to allow Ukrainian rescuers to focus on their mission of saving lives and eliminating the consequences of the catastrophe following the bursting of the Nova Kakhovka dam in the Kherson region.

"We have been in close dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities about what they need. Here we have been able to help with equipment designed to deal with floods, enabling the Ukrainian emergency services to respond effectively and forcefully. This is a targeted contribution that helps make a difference right now and here," says Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Policy Dan Jørgensen.

"The floods put large parts of Ukraine in a terrible situation, and we must do what we can to help the Ukrainians. With this preparedness package, we can help with equipment that enables the Ukrainians to react more effectively," says Acting Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.

The response is part of joint EU efforts through UCPM.

The emergency equipment package is funded by the Denmark’s humanitarian support to Ukraine.
