SIX MULTI-FUEL MOBILE BOILER HOUSES DELIVERED TO MYKOLAIV CITY

With funding from Denmark, UNOPS delivered 6 mobile boiler houses to Mykolaiv, Ukraine. The new heat generation units will be installed to serve the critically important social sector facilities and will be operated by MykolaivOblTeploEnergo (Mykolaiv City’s heating company) to help the city manage the winter season.

These units are capable of being moved around the city and are connected to the grid where capacity is lost due to attacks or breakdowns – providing a crucial backup for heat generation. UNOPS provided similar units in 2023.

Denmark and UNOPS have supported Mykolaiv since 2022, providing the city with over $ 17 million worth of assistance.

“The partnership between Mykolaiv, Mykolaiv Region and Denmark is strategic in nature. We have taken a systematic decision to support the region and the city. Our partnership we implement together with UNOPS, is quite holistic. It covers not only garbage trucks and front loaders, but also the revival of water supply and district heating. Our next focus will be with education and educational facilities as we want all students to come back to their schools and their offline schooling. We also rebuild residential houses that were damaged during the first months of war so that people can come back home. We want their lives to be comfortable”, says Jakob Torrild Hansen, Head of the Embassy Office in Mykolaiv.
