The Danish Embassy is looking for a new trade advisor

Denmark and Ukraine have a strong and rapidly growing partnership and the Danish Government is deeply committed to supporting Ukraine in its fight for freedom and independence. One of the important elements of our bilateral co-operation is investments in reconstruction and strengthened private sector development, where both sides are committed to scaling up existing partnerships and introducing new ones. 

The Embassy of Denmark is therefore hiring an experienced and service-minded colleague with strong commercial skills to join our trade team as advisor for energy, energy efficiency and water tech.  

You will be part of the embassy’s commercial team and will work closely with several departments of the embassy, providing a great opportunity to contribute to the activities and further development of a busy, bilateral embassy. 

You will be working physically at the Embassy of Denmark in the centre of Kyiv. We offer a friendly and respectful working environment with good opportunities for professional development. 

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:


Lead the embassy’s commercial activities within clean-tech sectors; including water tech, renewable energy and energy efficiency, 
Fulfil commercial KPI’s set by the Danish Trade Council, including a personal earning target for consultancy services to Danish companies. 
Organising conferences, trade missions and other events.
Other tasks may be assigned in dialogue with management and depending on the competencies of the successful candidate.

Professional qualifications:

Strong commercial background with at least three-five years of experience from a similar job. 
Expertise within one or more clean tech sectors
Ability to work independently, including securing orders and executing individual assignments for Danish companies.  
Fluency in English 
Knowledge about Denmark and Danish commercial strongholds is an advantage
Relevant university degree is an advantage.

Starting Date

July 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. Employment requires security clearance from the Danish authorities. The applicant should be eligible for working in Ukraine, i.e. be a Ukrainian national or have a valid Ukrainian work permit. A competitive salary package will be provided according to qualifications.
