The Embassy is Hiring an Admin and Consular Officer

Are you an administrative wizard? Are you interested in consular case handling? Then you might be the Embassy's new Admin and Consular Officer.

The Embassy of Denmark is now hiring an experienced and service-minded colleague with strong administrative skills and a pragmatic approach to join our team as Admin and Consular Officer. You will be part of the embassy’s Consular and Administration Team and will work closely with several departments of the embassy, providing a great opportunity to contribute to the activities and further development of a busy, bilateral embassy. 

You will be working physically at the Embassy of Denmark in the centre of Kyiv. We offer a friendly and respectful working environment with good opportunities for professional development. 

 

Your tasks and responsibilities will include:

Provision of competent and timely assistance to the general professional administration of the Embassy in accordance with MFA instructions and local legislation, including HR and real estate as well as issues related to diplomatic privileges and immunities. 
Provision of competent and timely consular assistance to Danish and non-Danish citizens with permanent residence in Denmark in accordance with the Consular Instructions of the Danish MFA.
Handling of visas and permits for access to Denmark in accordance with Schengen and Danish visa rules and regulations.
Handling of requests and hearings from relevant Danish authorities
Development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with relevant local and Danish authorities.
IT and Embassy website support.
Assistance with budget and bookkeeping. 
Assistance with organization of meetings, visits of foreign delegations etc. 
Other tasks may be assigned in dialogue with management and depending on competencies of the successful candidate.


Professional qualifications:

Professional integrity and sound judgment in consequential decisions. 
Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion. 
Ability to interact with people of different backgrounds in a polite and sensitive manner.
Experience in administration of a public or private organization is a must.
Experience with consular case handling, i.e. from another foreign representation, is desired. 
Experience in budgeting and bookkeeping is an advantage.
Flexibility and ability to cooperate within and outside of one’s team. 
Strong English and Ukrainian, spoken and written.
Knowledge of Danish or another Scandinavian language is an advantage, but not a requirement.  
Relevant university degree is an advantage.

Starting Date:

April 1, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. Employment requires security clearance from the Danish authorities. The applicant should be eligible for working in Ukraine, i.e. be a Ukrainian national or have a valid Ukrainian work permit. A competitive salary package will be provided according to qualifications.
