The Embassy is looking for a national security officer

The Embassy of Denmark is now hiring a service-minded colleague with a security background to join our team as a National Security Officer. The security team is a pivotal element of the embassy and you will work both with internal and external partners. You need to be a positive and outgoing person who thrives in a busy environment and who takes pride in dealing with all kinds of security challenges in a friendly and service-oriented manner. 

You will be part of the embassy’s security team, and you will be tasked with a number of security related assignments. You will work closely with all departments of the embassy, providing threat assessments, helping with daily security tasks and contribute in ensuring the safety of all staff members.


Your tasks will include:


Reporting to and in close cooperation with the Deputy Head of Mission (DHoM) and the Regional Security Advisor (RSA) to ensure the on-going support to Embassy staff in relation to all security related matters.
In close cooperation with DHoM and RSA to carry out threat assessments and ensure an appropriate security action/process related to this.
Analysing and assessing the overall and latest security situation in Ukraine.
Liaise with relevant local authorities within security operations. 
Advice selected Security Company in implementing shift rosters and support essential operations requirements. 
Advice and report to DHoM and RSO on day-to-day administrative issues related to Embassy drivers.
Ensure operational readiness and maintenance of Embassy vehicles.


Professional qualifications:

Completion of a civilian or military education/academy OR a university degree in relevant topics OR extensive training/experience in security related fields.
A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience is required. Prior experience from an international/diplomatic environment would be an advantage.
Excellent spoken and written command of Ukrainian and fluency in English.
Must be prepared to operate throughout Ukraine when and if required, even on short notice.
Valid driving licence for category B and C. Prior experiences with armoured Toyota Land Cruiser is preferable.
Ability to liaise with relevant local authorities and other key players within security operations.
Good interpersonal and communication skills. 
Willingness to work flexible working hours including occasional weekends.

Starting Date:

February 01, 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. Employment requires security clearance from the Danish authorities. The applicant should be eligible for working in Ukraine, i.e. be a Ukrainian national or have a valid Ukrainian work permit. A competitive salary package will be provided according to qualifications. The position is initially limited to one year with a possibility of extension.
