The Embassy is proud to support the “Ukrainian Collage” at the National Museum “Kyiv Art Gallery”
“Ukrainian Collage” art exhibition is currently open at the National Museum “Kyiv Art Gallery”
Sergei Sviatchenko, the Danish Ukrainian artist who moved from Kharkiv, Ukraine to Viborg, Denmark, about 30 years ago, became a driving force and a headliner for this exhibition. Sviatchenko’s art encompasses various areas, including photography, architecture, fashion and interior design. Yet, Sergei’s primary creative interest lies within collage, a technique that allows to combine seemingly incompatible elements of reality thus revealing the hitherto unexplored facets of existence.
As Jens Martin Alsbirk, chargé d’affaires, stated in his speech at the opening, “Cultural relations between Denmark and Ukraine are being strengthened in defiance of the war. Last year, Ukraine House was established in Copenhagen, and Ukrainian Danish Youth House opened its doors in Kyiv. These new initiatives are of course stimulated by the influx of Ukrainians now living in Denmark, opening the way to more people-to-people ties and dialogues between various cultures”.
