UKRAINIAN NATIONAL POLICE AND STATE EMERGENCY SERVICE RECEIVED A NEW BATCH OF ENERGY EQUIPMENT
On March 14th, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine delivered energy equipment to the Ukrainian police and rescuers funded by the Government of Denmark.
Energy facilities are some of Russia’s key targets in Ukraine. In Mykolaiv region alone, over 1,000 electrical network facilities have been damaged, as reported by the State Inspection of Energy Supervision of Ukraine. Yet, Ukrainian police and rescuers have managed to maintain their operations despite the difficult circumstances.
Ambassador Ole Egberg Mikkelsen assured that the Government of Denmark will persist in providing systematic support essential for the recovery of Mykolaiv and its communities. “I wish to thank the police and the SES for their crucially important work to save lives and bring back normal life whenever Russia has brought death and destruction to peaceful cities and settlements in Mykolaiv Oblast,” Mikkelsen said. “They do this often at the risk of their own lives, and we are proud to contribute to their efforts,” he added.
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Ukraine delivered 152 charging stations, 50 uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, and 80 batteries to National Police offices in the Mykolaiv Oblast. Within this batch, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) has also received seven stations and 40 UPS units. The procurement of this equipment, valued at over US$140,000, was made possible thanks to generous financial support from the Government of Denmark.
The delivery of this batch of equipment is part of a broader support programme provided by the Government of Denmark and UNDP to the communities of Mykolaiv Oblast, to ensure sustainable and unhindered provision of security services and promote the coordinated efforts of relevant services on the ground.
