XIX DEFENCE AID PACKAGE FROM DENMARK TO UKRAINE

This donation package meets a number of urgent as well as long-term needs: supporting donations via the Ukrainian defence industry, providing additional equipment to bolster Denmark's F-16 donation and donations from the Danish Defence's own inventory.

"Ukraine still needs significant military support in the face of continued Russian aggression against the country. With the latest donation package, we are therefore providing as much support as possible to Ukraine's needs on the battlefield here and now. But we also have a Danish security commitment to support Ukraine for the next 10 years. For this reason, we have created a Danish model for donations via the Ukrainian defence industry, which will help build up the Ukrainian production of military equipment in the short and long term," says Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen.

"Europe is standing at a crossroads. Russia's war against Ukraine has been going on for over two years and the situation on the battlefield is severe. Investing in the Ukrainian defence industry is an effective and sustainable way to support the Ukrainian fighting capabilities, both in the present and in the longer term. With this initiative, we meet a strong Ukrainian desire and strengthen both Ukrainian and European security. Therefore, Denmark will continue to expand our capacity to support the Ukrainian defence industry, and we are also happy with the attention this initiative has received in the EU and other countries," says Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

Donation Package XIX allows the Ministry of Defence to use the DKK 1.2 billion to quickly meet Ukraine's needs.
