The new aid package is worth 2.4 billion DKK (321.8 million EUR) and includes new equipment purchases for Ukraine, additional funds for the defence industrial purchase pool, and donations from the Danish Defence’s own inventory.

"Ukrainians continue to fight relentlessly against Putin's brutal attacks on their country. It is therefore important that Denmark continues to show its support for Ukraine. The 21st donation package is designed to provide as much military support as possible to meet the urgent needs of Ukrainians while supporting Denmark's ambition to contribute to the long-term development of Ukraine's defence capabilities. At the same time, the government is working to decide on further purchases directly from the Ukrainian defence industry, including in the area of drones," says Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen.

"Ukraine's fight is the fight of all free Europe. That is why I am pleased that we, together with close European allies, are once again responding to Ukraine's urgent needs. This applies, not least, to the package's contribution to air defence, which is essential for Ukraine to protect itself against Russia's massive missile attacks that target critical energy infrastructure, among other things. We will support Ukraine's ability to defend itself against Russia's illegal and brutal attacks for as long as necessary," says Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

The package also includes a number of agreements with international partners on the donation of high-priority equipment to support Ukraine's formation of new brigades.
