Sixth Steering Committee Meeting

The sixth Steering Committee meeting of the Mykolaiv-Mykolaiv Region-Denmark Partnership took place on February 28, 2005 in online format. Denmark formally approved its sixth reconstruction aid package, totaling 200 million DKK (approximately 26.8 million EUR), to support recovery efforts in Ukraine, with a significant focus on Mykolaiv.
The meeting was moderated by the Ambassador of Denmark to Ukraine, Ole Egberg Mikkelsen, and included remarks from Aliona Shkrum, Deputy Minister of Reconstruction, and Lotte Machon, State Secretary for Foreign Policy at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mykolaiv authorites were represented by Vitaliy Kim, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, and Anton Tabunshchyk, Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Council. Mykolaiv City was represented by Secretary of the City Council Dmytro Falco and Deputy Mayor Sergiy Korenev.
During the meeting, Lotte Machon and Ole Egberg Mikkelsen provided updates on developments since the previous Steering Committee meeting. They highlighted the progress made and outlined the future plans. 
 

During the meeting, Lotte Machon formally approved the VI reconstruction package that focuses on critical areas of infrastructure recovery, energy resilience, and humanitarian demining.

The projects under this package include: provision of various equipment within the energy sector, humanitarian demining with a specific focus on agricultural land, mine risk awareness campaign, installation of solar panels and other energy resilience initiatives, restoration of water supply systems in the Domanivka hromada, groundwater surveys, enhancement of municipal transportation and support for the reconstruction of social infrastructure

The delivery of these projects will be carried out in collaboration with key international and Danish organizations, including: Energy Community,Danish Refugee Council, DanChurchAid, Danish Red Cross, NEFCO (Nordic Environment Finance Corporation) and EBRD (European Bank for Reconstruction and Development).
